Berhe Russom
Berhe Russom is a contemporary painter and photographer in Eritrea, East Africa. He was born in 1983 in Dekishhay western part of the country. He completed his primary education in Mlezanay and his secondary education in Mekerka. Berhe participated in various artistic courses, including visual arts at Satreb Art institute in 2008 - 2011, graphic design and video editing at Satreb Art institute in 2017, photography, videography, and basic journalism at the Ministry of Information in 2019. He also attended a one-month, crash course delivered by Chinese art masters on painting and Chinese art (organised by Confucius Institute) in Asmara Eritrea. He also attended a one-month, crash course by American Artist Kristin Pluhacek (organised by the American Center) in Asmara. Berhe has taken active part in many contemporary African arts in group exhibitions and special art projects in Eritrea. He gave a basic art course for three months at Satreb Art institute in 2013, currently he is teaching a basic art course in the Algen community of Asmara.
